March Journal Quilt – Promises of Spring
March has been a wonderful month – up until the last couple of days when temperatures have dropped noticeably. But the daffodils are in full bloom, with the wild narcissus pseudonarcissus being the first to flower. The primroses are also flowering and the willow has begun to leaf.
Black ink transfer of the narcissus, yellow and green dyed silk organza, applied with bondaweb for the narcissus flowers and leaves. Two layers of organza for the primrose flowers which are sewn just at the centre with the bead.
I am not entirely satisfied with this quilt – it is a little monotonal, but I feel it does convey the spring colours in my garden.
