Memories from Japan
The pages are a mix of papers, different weights and include some thicker papers bought in Japan. The idea was to include images from all my trips to that country and I have just enough pages left for what will be my fifth visit next month. I have used memorabilia I collected, photos, information about places visited, papers and fabrics and have made up several small collages to fit the pages. My criteria was to use only items that had a personal connection to that country. The cover is made from fabric I stencilled and indigo dyed while at Bryan Whitehead’s farm on a course in November 2019 and the sash is a piece of shibori made at the same time.
Here are just a few pages from the book.
SIZE: 23 x 17 cms and 5 cms across the spine, made with four signatures.
