Being Here

This summer I took a course with Fibre Arts Takes Two - The Way of Wabi Sabi Collage with Donna Watson.  Wabi Sabi encompasses the idea that nothing is perfect or permanent and how to find beauty in the ageing process, especially in Nature.  Then to translate this into collage.  I learnt a great deal about how to slow down, to simplify and to really look at something.

An online exhibition entitled “What Remains” is being produced and this is my contribution.  I entitled it “Being Here” and I wanted to convey a sense of how the garden is gradually becoming more wild and untamed after 30 years and mirrors my own ageing process and how this is something I have to accept and cherish.
